A look inside

Trilogy Design and Architecture is an award winning Northern California firm specializing in architecture and urban design. Established in 1990, we believe our specialization is in our approach, rather than a project type. Our work has included schools, school modernization projects, summer camp structures, civic buildings, hotels, medical facilities, faith-based projects, as well as environmental design projects – parks, fountains, and large scale projects.

Our approach is rooted in a philosophy of designing to increase harmony for people and planet. We begin with a focus on sustainability and inspiration for the people that will utilize our projects. Sustainability means far more than a simple LEED certification, to us it means designing projects that have longevity. We design legacy structures that can adapt and evolve with their users over time. We design to fight waste and obsolescence – a mindset that takes careful consideration of both scope to our client and the impact on the communities where these structures serve and live.

We understand the importance of a coordinated process between the client and the design team, and we work diligently to keep that process on track. Because we are a studio based environment, our team is not siloed like many other firms. This means that everyone on our team understands the importance of having the correct blend of design, structural engineering and cost-effectiveness, and work to track the project progress in tandem with our clients. This is our way of using design to positively contribute to better communities, through process and design.

  • Architect’s/Designer’s at Trilogy Architecture are USGBC certified to design green buildings as it is our passion.

  • 30 years in business with over 200 completed projects.

  • Technology focused at every phase, to reduce costs and improve efficiency from design to build.

Our Formula

The formula for our studio is simple – a collaborative environment. Everyone here – from our principal architect down to designer – has learned that being a good listener is the most important attribute of a good architect. We benefit from seasoned experience of our senior team members and the fresh perspective from the latest insights in academia from our emerging architects and designers.

Our Process

Relationship building and trust are guiding principles within our firm. We feel it’s important that clients have a clear understanding of our decision making at every phase of a project. By empowering our clients with our own knowledge for the duration of the project we build trust through transparency, enabling clients to feel in control and that they are valued as true collaborators. Many of our clients have come back time and again, based on the bond we work diligently to build. The trust we build with our partners and clients is equally as important as the final construction.

Specialties

Adaptive Reuse

Trilogy is involved in the creative transformation of old, derelict, abandoned or outdated architecture for an explicit use, e.g. specifically, the renovation of institutional buildings to create new cultural spaces, the adaptation of transport infrastructure to create new parks that add value to the community.

BIM

Building information modeling (BIM) is a process supported by various tools, technologies and contracts involving the generation and management of digital representations of physical and functional characteristics of places. Trilogy integrates the extensive and innovative use of BIM technology in all of our projects.
