For a Healthy Lifestyle

YMCA Addition

In 1984, the Shasta YMCA moved into a converted warehouse, and they haven’t stopped building since. In 2002, Trilogy was hired to design an addition and renovation to include a new lobby, chldwatch room, front desk area, and youth conference center. Our challenges included working with an already tightly packed site and existing building without an identifiable entry. We decided upon a strong geometric form intended to create a visual identity; a fabricated metal building clad in “YMCA Blue” panels. The two story lobby is designed to connect the various functions of the existing multi-story building. Since it first opened its doors in 1984, this YMCA’s membership has grown to more than 8000, and we are happy to be a small part of their success.
