An International Flavor
Avenues: The World School
We have found that there is a great need for what we call “Design Between the Cracks” for schools. In these cases, the school is already built, and with time has come a need to rethink how some of the existing teaching spaces work. Although the new campus for this school had just opened in New York City in 2012, our client decided they needed to adjust some of the classroom and social gathering spaces after listening to their teachers’ initial experiences. We were able to make some necessary adjustments to the physical space – including recommendations on furniture – to improve the learning experience without compromising the overall character of the new school.
Teaching necessarily evolves over time – why shouldn’t classroom space evolve as well?
