The strong earth tones of the home are intended to mesh with the natural surroundings of Chitalpa trees, ornamental grasses and drought tolerant plantings. Although the home is designed to be very energy efficient – reflective roofing, window overhangs, extra insulation, and cross ventilation are just a few features – many of the energy-saving features aren’t all that visible.
For the owner, this is the home they wanted – it just happens to be good for the environment.
